France knows how to get all the payouts from the EU from development funds as they practically invented the bureaucratic system.

Re: Airport capacity?
I see Frank 'Zac' Goldsmith has triggered a by-election where he will go from a Conservative to an independent as the Conservative's won't stand.
Is he planning to pay for this self indulgent posturing of a pointless by-election?

Don't forget, WT, every square centimetre if those fields qualify for a grant of some sort under the CAP

SNCF must have been able to offer a pretty good price to allow them to build a railway over such a cash cow.

That IS how it works, isn't it?

Re: Airport capacity?
They have a similar population count but about 3+ times the land with vast hectares of empty flat fields ideal to put railway lines across....

Re: Airport capacity?
Yeah, but ih France they've got fucking trains that go everywhere. TRAINS!

How the fuck can you properly rip off, then tax the arse out of people travelling when they use TRAINS!!??

Fucking trains. That's THIRD WORLD, that is.

agree, in France they consider if it's in the National interest and if it is, then they get on with it. We are a total embarrassment

Why would I lie about it? On a forum full of politically opinionated, misinformed, blinkered West Ham fans what on earth would I gain from lying about being a Labour voter? I hate The Conservatives for all I'm worth, get over it.

Re: Airport capacity?
Might be better to wait until after we leave the EU to get this started.

Will probably be much cheaper if we don't follow EU (OJEU?) tender processes.

Re: Airport capacity?
Let Gatwick and Heathrow have extra runways and let them sort it out themselves. Letting governments get involved always slows everything down....

Re: Airport capacity?
So it won't be voted on till 2018, won't be started on until 2021 and won't be finished for another few years after that, so we are looking at 10 years and that's if it even happens, which there is a good chance it won't and it starts all over again.

This country is fucked when in comes to large scale infrastructure, too many cunts sticking their noses in.

Re: Airport capacity?
According to one of the political commentators, the line from the Government is they want show the world, post-brexit that we mean business. I think we are the laughing stock of the world it's taken 30 years so far and we still have appeals, more appeals consultations.

'Closet'? Why would I bother? There a quite a few people who've put their hands up on here to admit they vote Labour, it seems to gall you that I'm not one of them, sorry to disappoint.

Re: Airport capacity?
Utter bilge - just wait and see who gets the major construction contracts.

This is fuck all to do with what's good for the country/planet (although it will be spun like mad that way).

It's ALL to do with lining the pockets of a favoured, chosen few.
